Why did I choose the domain name IAmPariah.com? Because I am Pariah. That's my name. No more complex reason than that.

DESIGN PROCESS:
For those interested...
  1. Rough sketches were produced in pencil on paper.
  2. Once the basic design was chosen, I digitized the paper sketch using pen and tablet and produced a mockup in Illustrator. Many of the components of the mockup were used unchanged in the final design.
  3. The xHTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript were written by hand in TopStyle Pro and HomeSite.
BOOKMARKS SYSTEM:
This is how I keep my offline browser Favorites in synch with my online Bookmarks & Blog Roll list, if you're interested.

The Bookmarks & Blog Roll section of the site, including the Internet Explorer and Opera custom sidebar and Netscape and Mozilla custom panel, were coded (almost) from scratch in Javascript. I built a proprietary system that runs on my local computer to copy my Internet Explorer Favorites to a new location, excluding a few work-related and confidential Favorites, then converts them to a CSS and JavaScript driven HTML file. The file is then post-processed by other automated phases, and uploaded to the site daily. The online portion is PHP, JavaScript, and CSS that serves up code custom tailored for the visitor's browser. To finish it all off, my BlogRolling.com BlogRoll is prepended to my normal Bookmarks.

The Bookmarks that appear on the home page of the site are generated similarly, as a subset of all my Favorites.
